We’re excited to share some fantastic news here at Silent View Windows. Drumroll please….our Founder and Managing Director, Enis Evlat, has been named the National Business Person of the Year (Gold Winner) at the SME National Business Awards 2025, held on 7th November at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London.

This achievement is especially meaningful to us as a local, family-run business, and it’s a recognition of not just success, but dedication, perseverance, and staying true to your values.

From Window Fitter to Award-Winning Business Leader

What makes this award so special is the story behind it. Enis left school without formal qualifications and began his career as a window fitter, learning every part of the trade from the ground up. With his wife, Rose, he built Silent View Windows from scratch, relying on word-of-mouth recommendations, long hours, and sheer determination.

Since then, the business has grown into a respected name in Thame, boasting:

• A dedicated team of skilled professionals
• A busy showroom showcasing high-quality windows and doors
• Two sister companies: Silent View Windows Commercial Ltd and Thame Builders Ltd.
  
  

Despite this growth, Enis has never lost sight of his roots. He believes success is about people, not titles. Every new team member is given the opportunity to train, gain qualifications, and build a career they can be proud of. His leadership philosophy is simple: work hard, stay humble, and look after the people who look after you.

Committed to Community

Beyond business, Enis plays an active role in the local community. He is a voluntary director at the Oxford Rising Stars Ice Hockey Club, supporting sponsorship initiatives and encouraging youth participation in sport. Silent View Windows also supported Theo’s Skate Jam in Thame, which raised funds and awareness for Little Hearts Matter, a charity supporting children with single-ventricle heart conditions. Why Enis Was Recognised?

Enis was nominated for this award by his fellow directors, Rose Evlat and Emma, who said:

Speaking about the award, Enis said:
