Brief
Silent View Windows were commissioned by Travelodge Hotels to replace 120 windows at their Manchester City Centre Riverside location, as part of a wider programme of refurbishment works being rolled out across the Travelodge portfolio. This project represents one of several live & recently completed Travelodge schemes within Silent View Windows’ growing commercial pipeline.
The installation formed part of a broader investment by Travelodge aimed at improving guest comfort, energy efficiency, & acoustic performance across its hotels, particularly those located in busy urban environments. Situated in the heart of Manchester, close to major roads & pedestrian routes, the site experiences high levels of external noise & foot traffic, making effective glazing solutions critical to guest experience.
The project presented a number of logistical & operational challenges. These included restricted access, a dense city-centre location, & the requirement for all works to be completed while the hotel remained fully operational. Silent View Windows were tasked with supplying & installing modern, high-performance PVCu window systems capable of delivering measurable improvements in both sound reduction & thermal insulation, while maintaining the building’s existing appearance & ensuring minimal disruption to guests & staff.
Working to a strict six-day programme, our experienced installation team planned & phased the works carefully, coordinating closely with on-site hotel management throughout. This collaborative approach ensured efficient delivery, safe working practices, & uninterrupted hotel operations, with guest comfort prioritised at every stage of the installation.

Outcome
Silent View Windows successfully completed the replacement of all 120 windows within the six-day schedule, meeting the client’s tight programme without compromising on quality, safety, or attention to detail.
The new window systems have delivered significant improvements in acoustic performance, substantially reducing noise ingress from surrounding roads & pedestrian areas & noticeably enhancing guest comfort. The upgraded PVCu windows have also improved the building’s overall thermal efficiency, supporting reduced energy consumption & contributing to Travelodge’s wider sustainability objectives.
Brookvent trickle vents now provide reliable, controlled background ventilation throughout the hotel, helping to maintain good indoor air quality while preserving thermal & acoustic performance. Aesthetically, the new windows have refreshed the external appearance of the building, delivering a clean, modern finish that aligns with Travelodge brand standards.
