Brief
Our lovely clients, a busy couple with a young family based in Thame were initially hoping to have their existing PVCu, Edwardian style conservatory repaired and potentially have the roof replaced.
After seeing the busy Silent View Windows vans out & about, our clients did their research, read reviews & invited us round to take a look at the job. (along with two other local companies).
After visiting the Mahon’s it was suggested that a transformation from tired conservatory into stunning orangery which, would also act as a family room with functuality for year-round and multi-functional use could be the way forward.
Several conversations later the desire for a more stylish and versatile space led them to embark on a renovation project to replace their old conservatory with a modern, orangery that seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with a connection to the outdoors.
The orangery has gained in popularity in recent years. It descends from grand constructions built by the aristocracy across Britain and Europe for the purposes of showing off exotic plants and trees. To survive colder conditions such plants needed warmth and light, and as glazing technology improved the designers of grand orangeries used as much glass as possible in their constructions.
Products used
Silent View Windows worked closely with both the homeowners and our suppliers to identify the right products to achieve the desired outcome. This resulted in a John Fredericks timber alternative Genus Flush casement window (white wood grain finish) to one side of the Orangery, Korniche bifold
doors were fitted bringing more of the outdoors into the family’s home, Korniche roof lantern helping to fill the space with an abundance of natural light and we worked with PCL Building Products Ltd who, provided a flat roof kit – bespokely made for the job.
Outcome
What a stunning result! Our clients were extremely happy with the finished project. When we asked them what they liked most about working with Silent View Windows they said how friendly the team were (great with their children too) there was a clear line of communication throughout the project
and attention to detail was exceptional.
